Rebel is an absolute love bug and the perfect mix between active and snuggly.  Rebel is also a calm, loving boy who has been great with other dogs at the rescue.  He enjoys long walks and has great leash manners. Rebel came to Pet Angels after his previous caregiver reached out to the rescue concerned about a medical issue and asking for help.  They were extremely sad to give him up and have stayed in touch to keep up with his progress and due to no fault to the family, they unselfishly found a no-kill rescue so that Rebel would have the best chance at a new home.  Rebel was severely underweight, emaciated, and dehydrated due to a GI issue.  He felt so bad that he really didn't have the energy to be playful or lovable.  

Now, Rebel is a changed dog!  He is the most handsome husky and has gained weight and a you now see a spunk in his step.    

Rebel is sweet and affectionate.  He is also very watchful and curious and will become alert if something new is in his yard.  Rebel is shy and cautious at first but give him a few minutes of love and he will warm right up to you.  He will do best in a home that can keep him on a grain free diet and over-the-counter probiotic supplements.  

Rebel has had no incidents of escape other than figuring out how to open a gate because he is very intelligent and watchful.  He will need a secure yard with at least a four foot fence and appropriate closure on the gate!  Rebel cannot live with cats or small critters as he has known to have a prey drive in his former home.

NORTHERN BREEDS: All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit to check for appropriate fencing and, if needed, to offer tips on containment.  You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application.

Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky or malamute you will need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost is approx $100) this is quite often needed to prevent digging, climbing or chewing through fences.  A hot wire is typically the best route to start with for proper containment and peace of mind.  Some of our dogs will require this fencing method, prior to adoption, knowing they have a history of escaping and will either jump or climb over your current fencing.  For most yards installation of a hot wire is simple and can be done in under 2 hours.  

Northern Breeds are beautiful dogs but can have challenging personalities.  They can be demanding and very destructive by chewing or digging and if not exercised they may be hard to contain when their needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our website Home Page.

Rebel has had his age appropriate vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration that also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance
